MBR Commercial completed a comprehensive new roofing & waterproofing system at the Wellings of Stittsville, a vibrant long-term care community for independent adults aged 55 and over. Our scope of work included roofing & waterproofing systems to enhance both the durability and appearance of the facility. Situated at 2500 Wellings Private—at the corner of Hazeldean Road and Huntmar Drive in a thriving Ottawa suburb—the Wellings community embraces a lifestyle of Carefreedom Living®, offering maintenance-free living with easy access to local shops and services. Our new built roof system ensure the residents continue to enjoy peace of mind in a secure, weather-resistant, and beautifully finished environment that supports their active, independent way of life. Scope of Work:

Main Roof System – Installed a 42,700 sq. ft. mechanically fastened Firestone 0.060 TPO white membrane roofing system. This included an 8" ISO insulation assembly for enhanced thermal performance and energy efficiency, along with 24-gauge perimeter flashings to ensure watertight detailing and structural edge integrity.

Below-Grade Waterproofing – Completed a 17,200 sq. ft. torch-applied SBS modified bitumen (Modbit) waterproofing system over the below-grade parking garage, utilizing a Soprema 2-ply membrane specification. This heavy-duty application was designed to provide robust, long-lasting moisture protection against sub-surface water ingress.

Both systems were installed in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry best practices, ensuring the building envelope is fully protected from the elements while contributing to the comfort and safety of residents.
