MBR completed a flat roof restoration for Golden Plough Lodge, removing the existing BUR system and installing new ISO insulation, fully adhered 0.060 EPDM membrane, and 24-gauge perimeter flashings—enhancing durability and waterproofing for this essential care facility.
Located in Cobourg, Ontario, Golden Plough Lodge is a long-term care facility that required a complete flat roofing system upgrade to meet modern performance standards. MBR’s team carried out a comprehensive restoration involving the removal of the aging built-up roofing (BUR) system.
Once the substrate was prepared, new ISO insulation was installed to improve thermal performance, followed by a fully adhered 0.060 EPDM membrane, providing excellent resistance to UV, moisture, and temperature fluctuations. To complete the system, we fabricated and installed 24-gauge metal perimeter flashings, ensuring a weather-tight, professional finish.
Outcome:
The result is a reliable, energy-efficient flat roof system that offers long-term protection, reduced maintenance, and improved occupant comfort for this critical healthcare facility.
